Termination of Membership Package Accounts

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any membership package account under the following conditions:

  • Non-Payment or Billing Failure: If recurring membership package fees are unpaid or payment methods are invalid after reasonable notice.
  • Inactive or Dormant Accounts: If a member remains inactive for an extended period and does not respond to reactivation prompts.
  • Legal or Compliance Issues: If continued access violates applicable laws, regulations, or data protection standards.

Before termination, we will provide:

  • A clear written notice via the registered email address
  • An opportunity to respond, correct issues, or appeal the decision

Upon termination:

  • Access to member-only features will be revoked
  • Marketplace listings and profile data may be archived or deleted
  • Any remaining balance or entitlements will be reviewed and processed according to the refund eligibility and data retention terms outlined in this policy

We do not terminate accounts arbitrarily. Every action is documented, reviewed, and aligned with our mission to protect members and uphold Marketplace integrity.

What Happens After You Cancel

When you cancel a subscription, your access continues until the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for. You won’t be charged again unless you actively renew.

Example: If you purchase a one-year membership on January 1 for R1200 and cancel on July 1:

  • Your access remains active until December 31
  • No renewal or future billing will occur unless you opt back in

Refunds are not automatically issued upon cancellation. However, in exceptional cases—such as accidental duplicate billing or platform failure—you may be eligible for a partial refund. We review these requests on a case-by-case basis, always with fairness and transparency.

Refunds for Prepaid Membership Packages

Membership packages are billed in advance—monthly, quarterly, or annually—depending on the package you select. By default, prepaid fees are non-refundable once the billing cycle begins.

Partial refunds may be issued in the following cases:

  • Duplicate billing or payment errors
  • Platform outages or service failures exceeding 72 hours
  • Accidental purchase of the wrong membership package (if reported within 48 hours)

Refund requests must be submitted via our support form and will be reviewed within 5 business days. We aim to resolve all cases fairly and transparently.

Reactivation of Terminated Accounts

If your membership account was terminated due to inactivity, billing failure, or rule violations, you may request reactivation under the following conditions:

  • Billing-related terminations: Resolve outstanding payments and update your billing method
  • Inactivity: Submit a reactivation request and confirm your intent to return
  • Rule violations: Appeal the termination with supporting context; decisions are reviewed by platform admins

Reactivation requests are processed within 7 business days. We reserve the right to deny reactivation if the original termination was due to serious misconduct or legal violations.

Data Retention After Account Termination

After your account is terminated, we retain essential data for a limited time to comply with legal and operational requirements:

  • Billing and transaction records: Retained for 5 years (POPIA compliance)
  • Support and moderation logs: Retained for 12 months
  • Profile and marketplace data: Archived for 90 days, then permanently deleted

You may request early deletion of your personal data at any time, subject to verification. We do not retain unnecessary data, and we never sell or repurpose member information.
